Mission, Missionaries, Miracles

This week, as we continue Journeying with Jesus, we reflect on Mission, Missionaries, and Miracles as a single unfolding work of God. Jesus’ mission was not revealed all at once, but patiently and purposefully, according to what people were able to bear, teaching earthly things first and leading hearts toward heavenly truth in God’s timing (John 3:12; John 16:12–13). That mission was then carried forward through missionaries who were sent to those prepared to hear—beginning with the Jews and expanding outward, as God’s redemptive plan moved toward reconciliation and life for the world (Romans 1:16; Romans 11:15). Along the way, miracles were not mere displays of compassion or power, but divine witnesses, revealing the unique authority of Jesus and leaving no doubt that God Himself was at work among them (John 15:24). Together, mission, missionaries, and miracles show us a journey marked by wisdom in revelation, intention in sending, and unmistakable evidence of God’s saving power.
