Joshua – Loyalty and Duty
This week in our Spring series, Following the Leaders, we turn to Joshua and consider the quality of loyalty. From his early years serving alongside Moses, through the testing of the spies in Canaan, and on to his later leadership of Israel, Joshua consistently showed a willingness to remain faithful to God even when others doubted or turned away. We will look at the relationship between loyalty, duty and faithfulness, and consider how loyalty to God should shape the way we live, serve and carry out the responsibilities He has given us. Joshua’s example challenges us to ask where our own allegiance lies and whether, like him, we can say: “As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
