Developing Patience
God’s promises are sure, but God’s timing often stretches our trust. In Genesis, Abraham believes God’s word—yet when fulfilment seems delayed, doubt creeps in and impatience takes the reins. Faced with waiting, Abraham and Sarah act on their own assessment rather than resting in God’s plan, and the consequences follow. Their story raises an uncomfortable question for us: when God seems slow, do we quietly take matters into our own hands? Today we explore how faith grows not only through believing God’s promises, but through learning patience—allowing God’s purposes to mature us, just as Peter reminds us that perseverance is part of the life God is shaping in us.
