This week’s service will take a thoughtful and practical look at prayer, beginning with a close examination of the Lord’s Prayer as taught by Jesus. We’ll consider what it really means to pray—why we pray, how we pray, and the different ways prayer is expressed, from private prayer and public prayer to prayer in song and praise. Along the way, we’ll challenge some common misunderstandings about prayer and reflect on how prayer can shape, humble, and direct us. Our main reading will be from 2 Chronicles 20, the account of King Jehoshaphat, where prayer, fasting, and praise turn fear into faith and remind us what it means to say, “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon thee.”
